Spring is near…
and it’s time to start your gardens and enjoy the bounty of blooms! This year Three Rivers Market welcomes three new women-owned businesses.

Heather Garland of Sunnyside Farms will be providing the co-op with organic plant starters for all of your home garden needs. Heather and her family have 4 acres in Corryton, Tennessee and follow Certified Naturally Grown guidelines.

Kristine Moody of Parkridge Petals will be delivering fresh, gorgeous bouquets weekly. Grown in the historic neighborhood of Parkridge in the heart of downtown Knoxville, Kristine’s goal is to bring joy to others through her locally grown specialty flowers.

New medicinal garden seeds from Earthbeat, owned by Jessica Manchester.

Grow your own medicine, tea, and pollinator garden! New specialty seeds located at the front of the produce department.

You can now find four varieties of mushroom tinctures from Extraterrestrial Fungi in Aisle 2 of our Wellness department!

Extraterrestrial Fungi is an excellent local business located just north of Knoxville in Powell. ET Fungi have been growing and supplying Three Rivers Market as well as various restaurants in town with premium and delicious fresh mushrooms.

We are happy to offer cordyceps, lion’s mane, reishi and turkey tail tinctures from Extraterrestrial Fungi. Following is a description provided by Josiah, the owner, on the dual extraction process used for the tinctures. He also provided a picture of lion’s mane extract at Day 1, Day 30 and Day 70.

Josiah says, “At Extraterrestrial Fungi we pride ourselves in making the highest quality tinctures possible. We use premium ingredients – which is easy because our tinctures have only three: water, alcohol, and mushrooms. Whenever possible we grow/forage every mushroom used to make them. When that is not an option we source from other small farms within the USA, but each and every tincture is made with the whole mushroom fruiting body – zero fillers! Alcohol is used as a solvent because of its ability to unlock the beneficial compounds we are after, allowing us to make a more potent product. Our water extraction is done in a pressure vessel, again allowing us greater access to a wide range of molecules. When mixed together this dual extraction is shelf stable for years.”

By purchasing Extraterrestrial Fungi’s products at Three Rivers Market, you support and strengthen the local East Tennessee economy and community!

MARCH’S
NOURISHING CHANGE

In March we will be collecting change to help support Creative Learning Academy, a secular homeschool co-op of Knoxville.

The mission of Creative Learning Academy Homeschool Co-op in Knoxville is to provide homeschool families of diverse backgrounds with enriching educational and social opportunities. They are a secular, inclusive, diverse, open and welcoming group.

Objective:

To raise $7,000  to support their student led Theater group for a theater space to perform in.

CLA plans to rent the River and Rail stage space, providing a professional environment for rehearsal and performances.

Donations will also fund the creation of props and sets. Students will participate in hands-on workshops, learning craftsmanship and teamwork, enriching their theater experience and instilling pride in their contributions.

Are you concerned that prices at the co-op are (or will become) too high?

Author, speaker, and friend of Three Rivers Market Jon Steinman has recently published an article addressing the many factors that influence co-op pricing and profitability.

Plus, an update on committees and a change to this month’s schedule.
