Citrus season is in full swing during
the month of January!

Stop by the Produce Department to choose
from the abundance of seasonal citrus while they last. Basic varieties like Navel and Valencia oranges or grapefruit are tastier and more juicy this time of year, and delicious Blood oranges, pink Cara Caras, tangerines and Minneola tangelos are only available to us certified organic during the coldest days of Winter.

Don’t miss an opportunity to experience the difference of (relatively) local citrus,
grown in sunny Florida!

It is the start of a New Year and a time when many of us set forth intentions aimed towards better health and self-improvement.  Three Rivers Market is here to support you on this journey. From organic fruits, veggies and other wholesome ingredients to an array of supplements to choose from, the co-op is a great resource to help you to fulfill your New Year’s resolutions.

Testimonial from our co-op’s General Manager, Fadi Aboush:

“I’ve been using NAC consistently for several years, primarily to boost my glutathione levels, a potent antioxidant. Additionally, I rely on it for brain health and its anti-inflammatory benefits. When I take it regularly, I truly notice a positive impact on my overall well-being.”

The Power of Collective Intentionality in our Commitments and Goals

As we reflect on our commitments for 2025 (updating building, maintenance, and repairs, and TRM’s Team development and training) highlighted in our Annual Report, we recognize the critical role of Collective Intentionality in driving our cooperative grocery forward. This concept, rooted in the idea that our shared thoughts and intentions can create a stronger impact, is essential as we navigate the upcoming year.

Our commitments and goals require the unwavering support and engagement of our members, shoppers, business partners, and the broader community. This Collective Intentionality will not only enhance TRM but will also yield collective benefits for our entire community.

When we harness the power of our shared intentions, we can profoundly influence our cooperative efforts. Our individual thoughts, emotions, and intentions resonate within the collective consciousness, shaping not only our experiences but also the environment around us. By uniting our intentions, we amplify our impact, fostering a more harmonious and interconnected world.

Together, let us embrace this collective spirit as we strive for meaningful change. Our commitment to our facility and our team is a reflection of our dedication to the community we serve. With each member contributing to this shared vision, we can create a transformative experience that uplifts us all. Let us continue to work hand-in-hand, united in our purpose, as we embark on this journey of growth and improvement.

With sincere gratitude and appreciation,

Fadi Aboush – General Manager
Three Rivers Market

JANUARY’S
NOURISHING CHANGE

In January we will be collecting change to help support Little Chefs, Big Change.

Little Chefs, Big Change’s mission is to get kids excited about food that’s good for both people and the planet. They do this by teaching affordable and fun plant-focused cooking and increasing access to healthy foods in schools and communities for kids
in 2nd through 8th grades.

In the cooking classes, groups of elementary or middle school students are taught how to cook healthy food that employ different cooking tools and methods.  A nutrition curriculum designed in partnership with UTK Public Health is incorporated.

Objective:

To raise $7,000 to support their After-School Healthy Cooking Program.

The Three Rivers Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome three new members, the winners of our 2024 Board Election.

Mary French, Teri O’Meara, and Debbie Sharp were elected to serve three-year terms, and were welcomed into the Board at our December 12th meeting.

578 members voted in the election, a turnout rate of 14.8%.

They have already started the Board orientation process, and will be undergoing our standard cooperative governance trainings in the upcoming months.

The returning members look forward to working with Mary, Teri, and Debbie, and we’re all excited for a productive 2025 for our market and cooperative.
