APRIL’S
NOURISHING CHANGE

In April we will be collecting change to help support Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum.

The Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum (KBGA) is located on 44 acres of former Howell Nurseries, featuring walking trails, display gardens, unique & historic horticulture and over two miles of distinctive stone walls and timeless buildings, just five minutes from downtown. KBGA is a privately owned and operated Garden supported through donations and membership. Thanks to their members and local supporters they are able to offer these beautiful gardens to the public for free!

Objective: To raise $7,000 to support the KBGA’s ability to serve the East Knoxville community and the greater Knoxville area as it moves toward the critical restoration of the historic Howell home which serves as the garden’s visitor center and office space.

Please mark your calendars for a special event featuring Jon Steinman, co-op leader and author of Grocery Story: The Promise of Food Co-ops in the Age of Grocery Giants.

Jon will spend the evenings of Monday April 22, and Tuesday April 23, discussing the future of food co-ops and leading members of Three Rivers Market in a cooperative dialogue session around the theme of “Developing a Common Vision for TRM.”

Both sessions will cover the same theme, but night two will build on the momentum of the first session, and all members are welcome and encouraged to register for both nights.

The Agenda for the regular monthly meetings is posted at least one week before each meeting on the
co-op’s website.To request that an item be considered for the Board’s agenda, members can either email the request to
board@threeriversmarket.coop or leave a note for the Chair at the Member & Customer Services Desk at the store. Requests must be dated and include name, member number, phone number, email address, or other reliable contact information needed for follow-up.

The deadline for submitting items to the Chair for consideration is four weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.
